Chapter 1
Discipline 1
Focus on the Wildly Important Goal (WIG)
- If there’s more than 1 important goals, the magnitude of “whirlwind” will amplify, eventually diluting the power of the team
Discipline 2
- Some actions have bigger magnitude of influence
- Leading anchor - specific action that can be done
Discipline 3
Discipline 4
- Accountability
- Regular accountability meeting, < 30 mins. Track progress, take accountability
- Every team member needs to answer one simple question:
- “Next week, outside of regular work load, what can I do that would help achieving the goal the most?
- Next meeting, every member will have to report if they have achieved the goal
- Too many goals
- Brain overload
- “Wildly Important Goal” vs “Important Goal”
- Number of Good Ideas is always more than the executable load!
- Trying to make every daily work task as wildly important goal
Set daily or weekly goal, instead of a long period
- 落後指標 = grow from 0 user to 100 user
- 領先指標 (factor that can be changed and subsequently improve)
- Make hypothesis of what can actually make the number improve
- for example
- arrange at least 10 in person meeting daily
- Talk to 10 parents online through online group daily
